Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre produces theatre that fosters community, nurtures the lives and careers of artists, and provides multi-generational audiences access to arts experiences that are entertaining, meaningful and accessible.
Founded in 1984, Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre is a professional summer stock theatre located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We present three full-scale musicals and additional educational programming each season. In doing so, we offer our community the opportunity to experience the unique joy and magic of musical theatre, as well as invite them to explore a deeper appreciation for this truly American art form. Our association with Shenandoah Conservatory influences an educational ambition to empower developing artists by placing them alongside seasoned professionals, and the result has launched 1,000+ careers. We aspire to present quality theatre that is approachable, diverse, entertaining, socially enlightening and, ultimately, rewarding to all generations.
