SSMT is seeking local youth for FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and THE WIZARD OF OZ!

Children interested in auditioning must be comfortable being away from their parents, work well with adults and other youth, and be good at following directions. Rehearsals are typically 9-5 (lunch break 12:30-1:30) until tech week when they run in the afternoons and evenings.

Auditions will be held Thursday, May 9 from 5-6 pm at Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre building on the campus of Shenandoah University. Children will not need to prepare anything for the audition, just come in comfortable clothing and shoes, be ready to sing, move, and have fun!

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF – Rehearsals June 5-21; performances June 21-30

Shprintze: girl, 10 years old. Daughter of Tevye and Golde. The 4th oldest of her 5 sisters. Still a child, but thinks she’s all grown up and wants to be included in her older sister’s activities.
Bielke: girl, 7 years old. Daughter of Tevye and Golde. The youngest of 5 sisters. Loves to run and play. Also featured as Young Chava in flashback; some dance required.
Boy, 4-7 years old. Local villager who is just beginning his studies.

THE WIZARD OF OZ – Rehearsals July 5-19; performances July 19-August 4

3 actors of any gender between ages 8 and 12. Ensemble roles; part of Professor Marvel’s Traveling Theatre Troupe to play munchkins and various other characters throughout.
