Michael Jablonski (Choreographer, West Side Story) is excited to make his debut on the SSMT stage. He has been part of 10 different productions of West Side Story as an actor, including the most recent Broadway revival directed by Arthur Laurents. He is honored to bring his passion and experience to the choreography of this historic piece of American Musical Theatre. Broadway: Cry-Baby, West Side Story, and The Book of Mormon. National Tour: Matilda, The Book of Mormon, West Side Story, Saturday Night Fever, Doctor Dolittle, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (starring Ann Margret), Victor/Victoria, and Brigadoon. Creatively, Michael was a finalist for the New Hampshire Theatre Awards for his work as the Choreographer & Asst. Director of West Side Story at the New London Barn Playhouse, and is also choreographing the production at Leonia Summer Stage this summer! Michael assisted David Marquez in the Pre-Broadway Workshop of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer that opened at The Minskoff Theater on Broadway. He created choreography for the National Tour of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas starring Ann-Margret and assisted Karen Azenberg on Les Miserables at Pioneer Theatre Company in Salt Lake City. Michael recently finished a year posting as a Visiting Artist teaching in the BFA Music Theatre program at Elon University and will be attending Florida State University in the Fall in the MFA Directing program.
