After careful consideration for the health and safety of our artists, patrons and community, Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre (SSMT), in partnership with university leadership, has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 summer season. As you may expect, this is not a decision we take lightly — this will be the first time in 37 years that we’ve not been a part of summer in the Valley! Ultimately, however, this is the best choice we can make to ensure the safety of our community and the future of our organization.
Theatre is a form that must be shared together, so it is particularly disappointing that we must remain apart — especially at a time when we yearn most to feel connected and inspired. But if you have ever found yourself moved by one of our productions, then you would know that the best way to face adversity is with a song in your heart. So let’s keep singing! If possible, please consider supporting SSMT with a tax-deductible donation. Your financial generosity means more now than ever, and will help to ensure that SSMT remains a part of this community for generations to come.
Thank you for your ongoing support and we look forward to seeing you again next summer. In the meantime, we are working on some very special virtual content to release this summer, so please take a moment to follow us on Facebook and stay tuned for some exciting updates!
