Meet two of our designers for the 2015 season!
William Pierson will be designing the sets for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and The Wiz, as well as designing the lights for The Addams Family. William McConnell Bozman will be designing lights for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Wiz, and The Music Man, as well as coordinating the set for The Addams Family.
With over 250 design credits, including last season’s Monty Python’s Spamalot and Disney’s Mary Poppins, Bill is happy to be returning for his 21st season with SSMT. He is an award-winning designer and Associate Professor at Shenandoah Conservatory of Shenandoah University. He received his MFA in design from Illinois State University. In addition to his recent design work with SSMT, he is also a free-lance designer in the Baltimore-Washington Corridor. He was a recipient of the Cleveland Critics Circle Award for outstanding set design for Passion of Dracula and a CCCA nominee for One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. In addition, he received the American College Theatre Festival Award for his set designs of White Rose of Munich and Translations.
Mac is a Professor of Scenic and Lighting Design for Shenandoah Conservatory. He has been with SSMT since its inaugural season, designing either scenery or lighting for every SSMT production except two in 31 years! Some of his favorite scenic designs include: Shenandoah, Cabaret, Kiss Me Kate, Anything Goes, Oliver!, 1776, Brigadoon, Carousel, West Side Story, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, White Christmas, “Legally Blonde, and the 2013 productions of Les Miserables and Shrek, The Musical. Mac is a 1980 recipient of an American College Theatre Festival Award of Excellence and he received the James R. and Mary B. Wilkins award from Shenandoah University in 1989. He holds the Harold Herman Endowed Chair in Theatre.
