SSMT is very happy to announce that Christopher Sanders, who audiences will remember for his portrayal of Javert in last summer’s Les Misérables is returning for the 2014 opening production of Man of La Mancha as the lead character, Don Quixote.
Christopher Sanders is an award winning actor and singer and has performed in venues around the world. Throughout his career, he has had the pleasure of working with George Hearn, Roddy McDowell, Carol Lawrence, John Raitt, Debbie Boone and Rosemary Clooney. Most recently he received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Javert in Les Misérables and Emile in South Pacific. Additional theatrical credits Fred/Petruchio in Kiss Me Kate, Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde in Jekyll and Hyde, The Beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha, Chauvelin in The Scarlet Pimpernel, Juan Peron in Evita, the title role Kopit and Yeston’s in Phantom, Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady and Cinderella’s Prince/Wolf in Into the Woods. His concert work includes engagements with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Knoxville Symphony, Pasadena Pops and The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber at the National Theatre and Concert Hall Taiwan. Christopher tours the country as the baritone for the legendary 1940’s singing group, The Pied Pipers. In 2001, they were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame along with the Bee Gees and The Lettermen.
